Caroline County Public Schools celebrates its 275 graduating seniors, who amassed more than $1.6 million in scholarship offers – a record or the county.
The Caroline High School Class of 2024 earned more than $1.6 million in scholarship awards—a record amount for the county, the school division announced this week.
This year’s graduating seniors—who began their high school careers learning virtually from home during the COVID-19 pandemic—earned $1.56 million from institutions of higher education, including Virginia Tech, Randolph-Macon College, the University of Mary Washington, Howard University, Louisiana State University, James Madison University, Virginia State University, the College of William and Mary, Longwood University, La Salle University in Philadelphia, and Old Dominion University.
The students also earned $52,000 in scholarship money from local businesses, civic groups, and service organizations, such as the Hanover-Caroline Soil and Water Conservation District, the Irene A. Miller Memorial Nursing Scholarship Community Foundation, and Caroline’s Promise.
Among the graduating class of 275 students are those who are enlisting in the U.S. Armed Services and those who are transitioning directly into careers with local and national companies, such as MC Dean, Caroline County Rehabilitation Center, and Ford Motor Company.
The division’s goal is for all seniors to be 3E Ready—either Enrolled in college or university, Enlisted in the armed forces, or Employed.
