Do you need comforting sweets without the worry of allergies? Cool Cat Cupcakes is a must-stop for visitors and locals alike!
The small business can be easy to miss as the entrance is on the side of Olde Towne Butcher. Down a small staircase, you’ll find the shop’s interior popping with vibrant, mid-century modern-inspired decor and colors. It’s a welcoming space for family and friends to sit, relax and enjoy the various flavors on offer – my two personal favorites are gingerbread and lemon-blueberry.
Half a dozen cupcakes would make an excellent holiday gift! On the website, you’re able to view a full menu to place an advance order. Also make sure to also check the shop’s Instagram (@coolcatcupcakes.llc), which is active in posting updated hours, new cupcake offerings and events hosted by the shop.
Questions for the Owner
FXBG Advance: How long have you been open?
Jasmine Wisniewski (owner): Cool Cat Cupcakes physically opened in June of this year, but our cupcakes have been available for sale at the Fredericksburg Food Co-op and the Old Towne Butcher Shop for a while now.
FXBG Advance: What makes your business unique?
Jasmine Wisniewski: I aim to provide individuals and families with food allergies with an alternative option that still tastes great.
A month into opening, I had a mom come in with her son, around six years old. When she got up to leave, she started talking to me and she was crying. She said, “You have no idea how wonderful it was to bring my little boy in here with all his allergies and not worry. He could just look at anything and pick anything.” She made me cry and I gave her a huge hug. That’s exactly why this has been my passion.
