Earlier today, a Stafford judge granted an injunction against Nick Ignacio.
The order prohibits Ignacio from engaging in four specific activities:
Distributing any Fredericksburg Virginia Patriot ballots described in the petition brought by G. Ryan Mehaffey.
Producing any election or campaign material that claims to be paid for or authorized by FVP
Producing any election or campaign material without the authentication required by Virginia Code 24.2-955 et seq.
Directing, cooperating with, or coordinating with any other person to engage in any of the prohibited conduct.
Ignacio must also pay a $450 bond.
The injunction is in place until November 8, which means he is also forbidden from taking part in these activities leading up to and including Election Day.
The decision is a major victory for those Democrats and Republicans who have objected to Ignacio’s flagrantly providing people false information the Spotsylvania Early Voting site.
However, Ignacio has made adjustments to bring his sample ballots into compliance. For example, the samples he is passing out now are paid for by “Friends of Nick of Ignacio.” Also, he is using a larger font.
Asked by WUSA9 about the changes, Mehaffey said: “Might put him in compliance,” but the sample ballots are still “indefensibly deceptive.”
FXBG Advance will continue to follow this story.
How much damage has he and his followers (Phelps, Twigg, and Maxwell, as examples) done already?
