Starting Thursday, trolls, magic and everything in between awaits visitors to Riverfront Park at a movie night in July, August, September, and October.
Thursday brings a bit of a break in the weather, with the high expected to stay below 90 degrees for the first time it what feels like months — heat has a way of slowing down time; hence, the lazy, hazy days of summer.
The break comes at an opportune moment, however, as Thursday night at 6:30 p.m. kicks off the first show in the Downtown Movies in the Park series — Trolls: Band Together.
The big screen will be set up at Riverfront Park, where there will be activities for people to take advantage of prior to the film starting to roll around 7:00 p.m.
Chris Allen, executive director of Fredericksburg Main Street, said in a press release: “It’s a wonderful opportunity for families and friends to come downtown, explore our amazing shops and boutiques, grab a bite to eat together, then head to Riverfront Park to enjoy great movies.”
Fredericksburg Main Street and the Economic Development Authority are co-sponsoring the event.
Attendees should bring blankets or chairs to sit in, and dress comfortably. While the temperatures will be cooler than they were, the humidity will still be in the mid-60s.
This will be the first of four movies. The other three will be:
- August 15 — Monsters Inc.
- September 19 — Jumanji (original version)
- October 19 — Hocus Pocus (original version)
